This carbon and lapis lazuli colored metal button is a pure jewel. Its ultramarine blue speckled with gold by the presence of pyrite and sometimes spotted with white when it also contains calcite, will amaze you.

Its name comes from the Latin “lapis” meaning “stone” and the Arabic “azul” meaning “blue”.

In Ancient Egypt, blue was the color of immortality and infinity. The Egyptians placed this stone inside tombs to protect the deceased on their journey to the afterlife. Before the industrial era, lapis lazuli powder was used to produce paint, the famous overseas color, which owes its name to its exotic origin. This very expensive pigment was reserved for the great masters, like Michelangelo, who used it to create the fresco in the Sistine Chapel.

In lithotherapy, it is considered to encourage taking control of one's own life and invites spiritual elevation.

Each natural stone is unique, it may therefore present differences compared to its illustration photo. Lovers of fine stones consider that it is its singularity that gives all the beauty of a gem.
